Kitchen renovation, oiled pine, stainless steel and Parsol glass

This kitchen is located in a Bauhaus villa originally designed by Farkas Molnár, one of Hungary’s great Bauhaus masters. The composition is anchored by soft powder-blue cabinetry, inspired by the distinctive color of the villa’s original openings. Its matte surface introduces colour with restraint, while stainless steel countertops and detailing provide a precise, industrial counterpoint. A suspended overhead cabinet, enclosed in deep blue glass, appears to float above the counter. Designed to store a unique glassware collection, its transparent volume preserves uninterrupted sightlines across the apartment. Natural light is fundamental to the design. Large windows flood the interior with daylight, which is reflected through the stainless steel surfaces and mirrored elements. As the light changes throughout the day, the blue glass and metallic finishes shift subtly in tone and reflection, giving the kitchen a sense of movement and depth.
